Indian Defense Minister lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier


On December 10, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov, and Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden in Moscow.
Traditionally, a minute of silence was held during the commemorative events. After that, a military band played the Indian anthem. The commemorative events ended with a march of the 154th separate commandant Preobrazhensky Regiment carrying the flags of the Russian Federation and troops of the Russian Armed Forces (AF).
The head of the Indian Defense Ministry arrived in Russia on an official visit the day before, the embassy of the republic in Moscow reported in its Telegram channel. He was met by Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar and Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin.
The report said that during his visit to Russia, the minister will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin and co-chair the intergovernmental commission on military and military-technical cooperation between India and Russia (IRIGC-M&MTC) with his Russian counterpart, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.
On December 9, the Indian defense minister took part in the ceremonial handover of the Project 11356 Tushil ("Shield") frigate to the Indian Navy in Kaliningrad.
On June 21, the Russian government approved the signing of an agreement between Russia and India on mutual dispatch of troops, warships and aircraft on the territories of the two countries. The project was preliminarily worked out with the Indian side. On August 23, a delegation from the Russian Defense Ministry discussed with Indian counterparts during an official visit to the country the possibilities of expanding naval cooperation between the two countries.
