A resident of Altai Krai sentenced to six years for publicly justifying terrorism


A military court sentenced a resident of Altai Krai to six years in prison for public justification of terrorism and calls for its implementation. This was reported in the FSSB of Russia in the region on December 10.
A citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 1976, created and administered a Telegram-channel, posting anti-Russian materials with the aim of attracting people to carry out terrorist activities.
A number of materials reportedly contained calls to provide financial support to pro-Ukrainian terrorist organizations banned in Russia.
The man was charged under paragraph "c" of part 2 of article 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls to carry out activities against the security of the state") and part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public justification of terrorism, committed with the use of information and telecommunications network Internet"). The FSSB in Altai Krai has completed the investigation.
"By court decision, the accused was sentenced to six years' imprisonment with serving his sentence in a penal colony of general regime. The sentence has not entered into legal force," - stated in the message of the FSS of Russia.
Earlier, on October 15, in the Chelyabinsk region fined 400 thousand rubles a resident of Magnitogorsk, who called for terrorist acts in social networks. A young man born in 2005 encouraged to commit terrorist acts and use violence against local law enforcement officers through messages in Telegram chats.
