Western countries in the current situation are quite ready to take extreme measures to maintain their dominance in the world. This was stated by the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergei Naryshkin, in an interview on December 10.

According to the data available in the Russian Federation, in the future the West may try to unleash a global armed conflict, the beginning of which will be laid in Eurasia, the SVR head pointed out.

"One of the possible scenarios for the development of events in the medium term remains an attempt by Westerners to unleash a global armed conflict with an epicenter in Eurasia. Such, you know, a proven way of world capital to get out of the crisis," the SVR press bureau quotes Naryshkin's words on the website of the intelligence service.

He noted that the analysis of the data available in the Service allows us to conclude that the post-Soviet space remains a priority area for attacks, particularly by the US and British intelligence services.

"The West has set itself the ambitious goal of severing not only economic, political, but also deep historical and humanitarian ties between our countries. This approach stems from the well-known Anglo-Saxon maxim 'he who rules Eurasia owns the world.' Although "to rule" for them means "to divide", "to sow chaos", and then to offer themselves to the exsanguinated nations as "impartial guarantors of security", - said the head of the SVR.

At the same time, it is encouraging that Washington and London are not the only ones who share "common interests and values". In contrast to them, there are no less stable groups of countries in the world, which are united by other tasks.

"Other, more responsible players who, united, are able to resist Anglo-Saxon adventures and independently resolve any problems, keeping the planet from sliding toward World War III," Naryshkin pointed out.

Before that, on November 21, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said during the Eurasia Forum in Budapest that the era of dominance of Western civilization is over and the strategy of Westernization of the whole world has failed. According to Orban, Asian states have become stronger and proved that they are able to exist economically and politically independently. That is why "the center of the world economy has shifted to the East, and the Eastern economies are growing four times faster than the Western ones," he said.

Earlier, on November 11, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the collective West had opted for a natocentric Euro-Atlantic architecture. Thus there put a cross on the agreements reached within the framework of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). In addition, he added that NATO is now expanding not only in the West, but throughout Eurasia, claiming a dominant role.
