The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has developed amendments to the Budget Code, which would allow to redistribute revenues from fines for traffic violations in favor of the federal budget. This is reported by RBC on December 10.
It is noted that the project on December 9 has already been approved by the government commission on legislative activity.
Currently, the fines paid by drivers are fully credited to the budgets of the regions. The proposal of the Ministry of Finance is to send to the regions 75% of revenues from fines, and the remaining 25% to be transferred to the federal budget, specifies "Gazeta.Ru".
As noted by the media, in 2023, the amount of fines for traffic violations, received in the budgets of the regions, amounted to 119.2 billion rubles. Moscow (Br22.7 billion), Moscow region (Br14.5 billion) and St. Petersburg (Br6.5 billion) received the most revenue.
Earlier, on December 6, the office of Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR), chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy, and Veterans' Affairs , told Izvestia that a bill will be submitted to the State Duma to exempt owners of special service vehicles equipped with a blue flashing beacon from fines for traffic violations from traffic cameras.
