Russian Armed Forces drone hit an AFU machine gunner in Kurakhovo

A Russian drone eliminated the position of a Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) machine gunner who was preventing the Russian Armed Forces from advancing to the center of Kurakhovo in the DNR. The drone operator with the call sign Pechorin told RIA Novosti on December 10.

The operator of the Russian drone "Molniya-2" managed to hit with high accuracy the window of a multi-storey building and suppress the machine gun fire of the enemy.

"The machine gunner took up a position in a high-rise building, from where he kept the main road of entry into the city under control, preventing the infantry from moving. The blow came exactly in the window, after which the machine gun fire stopped," the serviceman reported.

Earlier, on December 9, an Orthodox church on the Maryinka Dam separating Maryinka and Georgievka was destroyed on the Kurakhov direction by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) while retreating. It is reported that earlier Ukrainian militants stored ammunition in the church. However, now only a pile of bricks lies in the place of the church.

Before that, on December 7, the fighters of the groups of troops "Center" and "South" told about the battles in the area of Kurakhovo. The military forces of the Russian Armed Forces continue battles for populated areas in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). Thus, in the vicinity of Kurakhovo, the closing of the trap for Ukrainian militants continues. Also, the Russian Armed Forces are fighting for the settlement of Starye Terny. According to fighters, brutal trench skirmishes are taking place in the forest belts near Kurakhovo.

On December 4, an adviser to the DNR head, Igor Kimakovskyy, said that the Russian Armed Forces had taken a large section of the Zaporizhzhya-Kurakhovo highway under fire control. According to Kimakovsky, the southern direction is working from the northern bank of the Kurakhovo reservoir in order to displace AFU fighters.

Prior to that, on November 25, it became known that the grouping of troops "South" of the Russian army continues the offensive on the city of Kurakhovo DNR, as well as preparing a large cauldron for Ukrainian servicemen. It was specified that the situation around Kurakhovo is extremely unfavorable for the AFU.
