"We received information that on the volcano Ebeko (height 1156 m, located 7 km NW of Severo-Kurilsk, in the northern part of the Vernadsky Ridge) there was an ash emission to a height of 1.5 km. The plume spread in the north-western direction at a distance of more than 5 km," the message said.
According to the information of the unified duty dispatch service (UDDS), in Severo-Kurilsk ashfall was not observed, the smell of hydrogen sulfide was not felt, there is no threat to the population. There were no calls and complaints from the population.
International air traffic routes in the area of the volcano do not pass, there are no registered tourist groups.
