Experts point to the popularity of event tourism among Russians

This year, the number of Russian tourists who made event trips timed to a cultural or sporting event, amounted to 60%, follows from a survey of travel service "MTS Travel" among 1 thousand adult Russians, the results of which were published on December 10.

As noted by experts, in Russia, the greatest demand (35%) is for event tours, which include attending musical concerts of stars.

In addition, Russian travelers went on trips to attend sporting events (32%), music festivals (28%), national holidays (17%) and art exhibitions (16%). Among other options for travel purposes, 15% of respondents named attending movie events, 13% - gastro festivals, and 11% - floral exhibitions.

The service also found out that the most popular event travel destinations include such regions as Moscow and Moscow Region (40%), St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region (27%), Krasnodar Territory (16%), as well as the Republic of Tatarstan (13%) and the Sverdlovsk Region (8%). The average cost of such a trip is from Br10 thousand to Br50 thousand, noted the experts.
