In the United States of America in the case of murder of the head of a large insurance company UnitedHealthcare Brian Thompson detained a suspect who actively criticized the systems of medical care in the country. This was reported by the Associated Press (AP) agency on December 9.

Police said the suspect, 26-year-old Luigi Nicholas Mangione, was apprehended around 9:15 a.m. (5:15 p.m. Moscow time) Dec. 9 after law enforcement received information that he was at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

"We believe he is our suspect in the brazen premeditated murder of Brian Thompson," NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.

According to Tisch's statement, Maggione was dressed in similar clothing and mask worn by the shooter, moreover, he had a fake New Jersey ID that matched the one the killer used to check into a New York City hostel before the crime, as well as a gun and a silencer.

The suspect also had a "ghost gun," a weapon that is homemade and has no serial number, making it difficult to identify, investigators said.

According to law enforcement, the suspect will be extradited to New York, where he will be charged with Thompson's murder.

Earlier, on December 4, it became known about the murder of the Chief Executive Officer of the American insurance company UnitedHealthcare Brian Thompson. The man was standing near the hotel, where a conference for investors was to be held, when an unknown person fired several shots at the Director.
