In Ingushetia, a woman was sentenced to three years for selling her daughter

A court in Ingushetia sentenced a 23-year-old woman from the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania to three years in prison for selling her newborn daughter. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office on December 9.
The woman was found guilty under Article 127.1 part 2 "b", "h" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Human trafficking committed against a minor known to be in a helpless state").
"It is established that the guilty hid her unwanted pregnancy from relatives and acquaintances. In August 2022, having given birth to a girl in a medical institution in the city of Vladikavkaz, she left her daughter in the care of the guardianship and custody authorities", - report in the agency.
According to the prosecutor's office, in October of the same year, the woman was offered to sell the child for Br100 thousand. After that, the guilty restored parental rights, took the baby from the maternity hospital, and then handed him over to buyers in Nazran.
The court also indicted the woman who bought the baby.
Earlier, on December 7, the head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin instructed to conduct a check on the fact of possible sales of infants by employees of the maternity hospital in Primorye. The inspection is connected with the fact that the federal channel aired the story of a woman who 12 years ago gave birth to a daughter in a maternity hospital in Primorsky Krai, but the staff of the institution assured her that the baby had died. According to the mother, her child was given to a childless family.
On the eve, December 6, it was reported that in Orenburg, a man tried to sell his one and a half year old son for 1.5 million rubles. The man entered into negotiations with those willing to buy the child a few days ago, while the mother of the baby is serving a prison sentence.
