When receiving an unexpected gift, it is worth checking the reliability of information about the company that delivered the surprise or about the sender. Igor Bederov, founder of Internet Search and director of the investigation department of T.Hunter Igor Bederov told Izvestia on December 9.

"Be careful when receiving gifts from unknown senders. Check the reliability of information about the company delivering the gift or its sender. When flowers or gifts are delivered, you may be asked to sign a delivery note or take a photo to confirm the gift has been delivered. No confirmation codes, especially for another day, should be sent," he said.

In addition, the expert urged not to disclose personal information, passwords, confirmation codes or payment information over the phone or on suspicious websites.

"No matter what the representatives of the delivery company tell you, they absolutely do not need a system to confirm the login to your "Gosudservices" account through the EUIA, bank client or authenticators VK or "Yandex"," he clarified.

You should also keep evidence of deception - messages, call records, screenshots. This can help in further investigation, Bederov added, reminding that it is necessary to report cases of fraud to the police.

Earlier, on December 5, it was reported that in the capital there are new groups of scammers who deceive people by pretending to deliver flowers from a "secret admirer". On the new scheme of swindlers warned the acting head of the Department to combat the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow Vladimir Prasolov. It all starts with the fact that the courier arrives with a bouquet of flowers at an address where no one has ordered a gift. The next day the recipient calls back allegedly from the delivery service and ask to provide a code to confirm that the order is received. But these are identification numbers to confirm financial transactions.
