A Ukrainian drone that attacked the car of the rector of the Kazan church in the city of Horlivka, Archpriest Vasily Turenko, was aiming at the windshield. About this the clergyman himself told in a conversation with "Izvestia".
"First he flew into the windshield, then he went for a run," - said the rector.
At the time of the attack on December 8, the archpriest, along with an assistant, was carrying food packages to the needy. The clergyman was behind the wheel.
The UAV struck the right side of the car, causing it to blow out windows and damage to the wheels. No one was injured.
According to the rector, Ukrainian drones often fly in the area, and many of the parishioners of the Gorlovka diocese were wounded in Ukrainian shelling. From time to time flew into the temple, the archpriest added.
"We have more than once glazed windows in the temple, on the territory, we have a gazebo there, did not start to glass, just covered with film until better times," he said.
Nevertheless, the clergyman continued, the service is held constantly.
On December 8, the mayor of Horlivka Ivan Prikhodko reportedabout the attack of a drone of the AFU on the car of the rector of the Kazan church. He specified that it happened in the Komsomolets neighborhood, where attack drones of Ukrainian militants "hunt" civilian cars.
On the same day, Prikhodko said that at least seven people were injured in an AFU attack on buses in Horlivka. Ukrainian militants dropped an explosive object on a bus of route No. 8 from a drone when the vehicle was in a residential area in the Nikitovsky district of the city.
Ukrainian militants have been shelling the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions on a daily basis amid the special operation to protect Donbas, the start of which was announced by Russia on February 24, 2022.
