Actor Yuri Borisov became a nominee for the "Golden Globe" award

Russian actor Yuri Borisov became a nominee for the Golden Globe Award in the category "Best Supporting Actor" in the movie "Anora" by American director Sean Baker. The list of contenders for the award was published on December 9, the press service of the film award.

For the award were nominated Edward Norton for his role in "Perfect Stranger", Denzel Washington, who played in the second part of the movie "Gladiator", as well as Guy Pearce ("The Brutalist"), Jeremy Strong ("The Apprentice") and Kieran Culkin ("True Grief").

Also "Anora" received nominations in the categories of "Best Film (Musical/Comedy)", "Best Screenplay in a Movie". The film's director Sean Baker was nominated in the Best Director category.

The 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony will be held on January 5, 2025 in Los Angeles.

Earlier, on May 25, the film "Anora" won the Palme d'Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The ceremony of announcing the winners was held at the Palais des Festivals. Actors Yuri Borisov and Mark Eidelstein played some of the main roles, Alexei Serebryakov and Ekamasova - episodic.

On the same day, Russian actress Daria Ekamasova, who starred in the movie, in a conversation with "Izvestia" called the victory of the picture a great happiness in the current circumstances. In addition, the actress added that she would very much like the movie to be shown in Russia.
