AFU drone attacked an apartment building in Shebekino

In the town of Shebekino, Belgorod Region, a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) struck an apartment building, tentatively, no one was injured. This was reported by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov on December 9.

"As a result of the drone detonation, one of the apartments caught fire - firefighting units eliminated the hearth of the fire. The glazing in the house was damaged. When attempting a second attack, the second drone was shot down on the approach to the house," Gladkov wrote in his Telegram channel.

The governor said that all residents of the damaged entrance were evacuated. Four people were given places in a temporary accommodation point (TAC), while the rest decided to go to relatives.

Gladkov added that operational services are working at the site of the attack. Additional information about the consequences of the drone strike is being clarified.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defense assets (Air Defense Forces) destroyed 13 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones over Russian regions. Eight of them were shot down over the Belgorod region.

Before that, on December 7, Gladkov said that three private houses were damaged in the shelling of the Belgorod region by the AFU: one of them was in Shebekino and the other two were in the village of Tavrovo. In addition, another Ukrainian drone was shot down over Belgorod district at that time. The governor specified that no one was injured.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
