US President-elect Donald Trump can contribute to ending the conflict in Ukraine, according to Alexei Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs. He named on Monday, December 9, the politician's actions that can stop the clash as soon as possible.

"We only have hope that the US leadership has enough strength in the internal struggle to stop supplying arms to Ukraine and enough intelligence to stop NATO's eastward advance and make Ukraine a blocless country, not to support it in that. This will probably be the main thing that Trump can do," the MP said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
Earlier in the day, Trump wrote in the social network Truth Social that the time has come for negotiations on Ukraine. He also said that the next White House administration could cut military aid to Ukraine and that Zelensky would like to "make a deal" with Russia, according to the website kp.ru.
Trump promised in an interview with NBC that he would resolve the Ukrainian conflict "if he can," 360.ru reported.
Commenting on these statements, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that Russia is open to negotiations on Ukraine and welcomes proposals from China, India, Brazil and other countries.
