Analysts spoke about the growth of the market volume of shearing services in Russia

The volume of the market of chearing services in Russia grows by 40% every year. This was reported to Izvestia on December 10 by analysts of the Arenther cheering platform, who conducted their market research following the launch of a pilot project of cheering postamats, where household appliances and electronics can be rented.
According to their data, the top 5 product categories that were in highest demand included set-top boxes - they were rented by 22% of users; cleaning equipment - 20%; laptops - 20%; DIY power tools - in 12%; VR devices -10%.
"At the same time, demand depends on the season: in summer, cleaning products and power tools are more popular, while in fall and winter, gaming consoles and laptops are more popular. The average rental period is from five days to five months, depending on the product category. For example, vacuum cleaners are rented for an average of four to five days, game consoles - for three to four weeks, and laptops are rented for an average of three to five months," the analysts said.
According to their estimates, the volume of the Russian rental market currently amounts to 4.5 billion rubles, and every year it increases by 20-40%.
"Modern consumers are increasingly choosing to rent instead of buying on credit, this is due to certain trends. Firstly, attitudes towards ownership have changed: people are less attached to owning things, preferring temporary use and lack of long-term financial obligations. Secondly, the current situation in the lending market, including high rates and limited access to favorable conditions, makes renting a more affordable and profitable solution," explained the popularity of sharing services Evgeny Shevelev, co-founder of the service "Renter".
In addition, according to him, postamats are more cost-effective for business than traditional order pickup points or delivery: they require lower rental costs, as they occupy compact areas, and eliminate the need to hire and train staff, which reduces operating costs.
"Renting gadgets and other goods through postamats is the next big leap in the rental and shering market," he emphasized.
In turn, Anna Gubanova, director of customer service of the management company "Samolet" expressed the opinion that the service of short-term rental of equipment has become a helper for Russians, because they can avoid unnecessary spending, use only what is really needed, and save space at home as a result.
Earlier, December 6, it was reported that half of the surveyed Russians (49%) plan to allocate for gifts for the upcoming New Year from 20 to 50 thousand rubles. This is stated in the results of the study "Yandex Market". Every fifth survey participant (19%) is ready to spend 50-100 thousand rubles, and every tenth (11%) - more than 100 thousand rubles.
