Six-month border control has started to operate in the Netherlands. This was reported on December 9 by the portal NL Times.

"Asylum Minister Marjolein Faber announced the measures last month to combat illegal migration and human trafficking," - stated in the material.

It is specified that there will be no barriers or transport stops at the border. However, the police unit, which is responsible for securing the state's borders, will continue random checks of vehicles at mobile checkpoints (checkpoints). According to NL Times, 50 officers will carry out the checks.

It is noted that drivers are unlikely to notice much change. A representative of the local police, among other things, confirmed that the border control will not be much different from the current one.

Earlier, September 9, it became known that German Interior Minister Nancy Feather ordered the introduction of control at the land borders of the country. As reported by the publication Bild, the FRG authorities expect that these measures will become "a model for the effective expulsion of illegal migrants". Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed support for the decision.

On August 27, Friedrich Merz, a candidate for the post of chancellor of Germany and head of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), said that Germany should declare a state of emergency in order to facilitate the expulsion of migrants in case of unsuccessful negotiations with the EU.
