Experts predicted a 10% drop in car sales in 2025

In 2025, sales of new cars in Russia may decrease by 10% compared to 2024 and amount to 1.43 million units, this is the base scenario. This was announced on December 9 by Sergei Tselikov, Director General of the Avtostat analytical agency, at the Autostat Analityc Day, Izvestia correspondent reports.

The optimistic scenario assumes that the same number of new passenger cars will be sold in Russia next year as in this year, as analysts do not see any prospects for market expansion. According to the pessimistic scenario, sales will drop by 20% (to 1.27 million units).

Prices for new passenger cars may increase by 10% already by the summer of next year, experts believe. In November 2024, the average price for a new passenger car amounted to 3.17 million rubles (+5%).

At the end of 2024 sales are expected at the level of 1.59 million passenger cars, which is 50% more than in 2023, said in "Avtostat".
