The U.S. State Department left in force the announcement of a $10 million reward for the capture of Abu Mohammed al-Julani, the leader of the group that came to power in Syria. This follows from information on the website of the program Rewards for Justice ("Rewards for Justice").

The reward for information on the whereabouts of al-Joulani was appointed back in 2017.

On the eve of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, after negotiations with the opposition, left the post of head of state and left the country, instructing to carry out the transfer of power peacefully.

On the same day, the national coalition of revolutionary and opposition forces in Syria said it was working on the formation of a transitional authority. In turn, Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali said that most of the ministers of the Syrian government remain in Damascus, and he himself is ready to cooperate with any elected leadership.

Against the backdrop of these events, the current American President Joe Biden said that Washington is ready to cooperate with the opposition in Syria in the process of transferring power. According to him, the U.S. wants to make sure that the armed groups that came to power in the republic do not side with radicalism.

The situation in Syria escalated as a result of a major attack by armed groups in Aleppo and Idlib, which began on November 28 and led to the Syrian army's retaliation against the militants.
