A congresswoman has called for rappers P.Diddy and Jay-Z to be sentenced to the death penalty

U.S. House of Representatives member Marjorie Taylor Green on Monday, December 9, called for the death penalty for American rappers Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) and P.Diddy (real name Sean Combs).

"Regarding the child rape charges against P.Diddy and Jay-Z, I personally believe pedophiles should receive the death penalty if found guilty," she wrote on social network X (formerly Twitter).

The congresswoman added that violent acts against children should carry "the most serious consequences." She also called for the "abolition of child sex trafficking."

Earlier in the day, NBC News reported, citing case files, that Jay-Z faces charges of raping a 13-year-old girl. It is specified that the crime was allegedly committed together with P.Diddy. Commenting on the allegations, Carter called them idiotic and said that Texas attorney Tony Buzbee filed the lawsuit to blackmail the artist.

Rapper P.Diddy was taken into custody in New York City on September 17 by court order. It was clarified that in 2023, P Diddy's ex-girlfriend accused him of human trafficking and years of abuse. On the day of his arrest, the rapper was charged with organizing prostitution and human trafficking. A court hearing to hear Combs' case is scheduled for May 5, 2025.

Later, the rape allegations against him continued to multiply. On Oct. 21, CNN reported that seven new lawsuits had been filed against P. Diddy. They are the first time other stars have been accused, but their names have not been released. The allegations include rape, harassment, battery and unlawful imprisonment at Combs' parties from 2000 to 2022. Afterward, on Oct. 29, Reuters learned of P. Diddy's new charge of abusing a 10-year-old child in 2005 and a 17-year-old in 2008. Three more people, including two men, filed sexual assault charges against Combs on Nov. 20. The episodes took place in 2022, in the early 2000s and in 2004.
