Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. You can track the progress of the joint troops of Russia, the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DNR and LNR), as well as view a map of military operations for December 9 in the Izvestiya piece.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces (AF) hit the infrastructure of military airfields, railroad facilities providing delivery of Western equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), assembly and storage sites for drones, a fuel depot, as well as concentrations of enemy manpower and military equipment in 147 areas.

In addition, air defense means eliminated 10 rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) and 36 aircraft-type UAVs .

Also, units of the Vostok group of forces improved their position along the front line and defeated the formations of the Marine Brigade and three teroprotection brigades in the areas of the settlements of Konstantinopol, Dneproenergiya, Vremenyevka and Novovocheretovatoje in the DNR. In addition, the AFU repelled two counterattacks by Ukrainian army assault groups.

The losses of the AFU in this direction amounted to up to 150 servicemen, an armored personnel carrier, two vehicles, a 155-millimeter self-propelled artillery unit (SAU) Bogdana, a 155-millimeter howitzer FH-70 made in Great Britain, a 152-millimeter gun D-20 and a radio electronic warfare (REB) station.

In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 649 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 37,504 drones, 586 anti-aircraft missile systems, 19,713 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,500 MLRS combat vehicles, 19,274 field artillery and mortars, 29,109 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
