Assad has not been in contact with the Syrian embassy in Moscow


Former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has not been in contact with the country's embassy in Moscow. This was reported in the diplomatic mission on Monday, December 9.
"There were no contacts with Assad, we are not in contact with him even now," TASS reports the words of the embassy representative.
In the diplomatic mission confirmed the information that the former President of Syria is in the Russian capital.
On the eve it became known that Assad together with his family is in Moscow. As reported in the Russian Foreign Ministry, he resigned as head of state.
Also on December 8, the AFP news agency reported about a fire in the presidential palace of Assad in Damascus. The National Coalition of Revolutionary and Opposition Forces of Syria said it was working on the formation of a "transitional governing body."
On November 29, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called the opposition's activation part of a U.S. plan amid Israel's defeat in Lebanon. The White House denied its involvement in the events.
The situation in Syria escalated as a result of a major attack by armed formations in Aleppo and Idlib, which began on November 28 and led to the Syrian army's retaliatory actions against the militants.
