Fraudsters have become more frequent to deceive people under the guise of employment and internship. This was reported in the Central Bank (CBR) of Russia on December 9.
"Criminals have become more frequent to place ads on the Internet about attractive vacancies in large companies, state organizations and the Central Bank," - follows from the Telegram-channel of the regulator.
Attackers use a questionnaire to find out personal and banking information from victims, after which they invite them to a remote interview. At the same time, the fraudsters evade a personal meeting under various pretexts, warned the Central Bank of Russia.
As a result, the criminals ask to transfer money allegedly to sign an employment contract. It is specified that the arguments are given as payment for preliminary training, medical examination or overalls, confirmation of the relevance of the bank account and so on.
In addition, fraudsters may ask to install a fake application containing a virus on the phone, the Central Bank added.
On the eve of the group of companies (GC) "Garda" reported that in Telegram growing cases of fraud with the creation of fake doppelganger accounts. It was noted that profiles can look identical to those belonging to friends, colleagues and relatives.
Before that, on November 17, Evgeny Pankov, project manager of the .RU/.RF domain coordination center, told Izvestia that there is a steady increase in phishing attacks conducted through messengers, especially Telegram. According to him, 2,374 domains imitating Telegram were blocked in Runet in the first 10 months of this year, which is 2.2 times higher than the same period last year.
