An opposition flag was raised over the Syrian Embassy in Moscow. This was reported by Izvestiya correspondent from the scene on December 9.

The footage shows the opposition flag being hoisted up the flagpole to applause and cheers.

In addition, a homemade flag of the opposition was displayed on the building of the honorary consulate of Syria in St. Petersburg.

On November 29, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called the opposition's activation part of a U.S. plan amid Israel's defeat in Lebanon. The White House denied its involvement in the events.

Earlier, on November 28, armed formations attacked the territory controlled by the Syrian government in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib.
