The XII International Anti-Counterfeiting Forum became the central platform for discussing the problems of illegal products.
Daria Maltseva, Chief Producer of the SHOT PROVE project, spoke at the session "Noise for Safety: The Importance of Media in Informing Consumers about the Dangers of Counterfeit and Falsified Products" held as part of the XII International Anti-Counterfeiting Forum.
Modern realities require precise guidelines when choosing products, as the number of consumer goods is growing rapidly. In this process, the media play a key role, uniting the efforts of the authorities, business and society. Daria Maltseva emphasized: "We do not have the goal of drowning the businesses we inspect. And that the consumer, as it were, is not always right either. We are a link that helps not only consumers, but also companies. By highlighting issues, we create opportunities for better dialog and understanding in the marketplace."
One of the most significant examples of SHOT Check's work was an investigation into unfair product certification. It turned out that it was possible to obtain official confirmation of authenticity even for non-existent goods by presenting a false image. The issue provoked an active response: many buyers began to check the authenticity of documents or refuse products that raised doubts. Rosakkreditatsiya strengthened control after the investigation, and some certificates were canceled.
"We do not limit ourselves to informing, but try to systematically draw the attention of control and supervisory authorities, which thanks to our signals gradually change the situation in favor of the consumer, - said Daria Maltseva. - Working with government agencies, such as Rospotrebnadzor and the Prosecutor's Office, allows us to achieve real results, strengthening the trust of the audience and building their knowledge.
