The Kursk Region's governor sent the regional government into resignation

Deputy Governor of Kursk region Alexander Khinshtein sent the government of the region to resign. He announced the signing of the relevant decree at a meeting on December 9, the broadcast of which was published in the official group of the Kursk region in "VKontakte".

"By virtue of the requirements of the law, in connection with the resignation of the previous head of the region, I signed a decree as acting [governor] on the resignation of the government," he said.

Hinshtein explained that all members of the regional government are working as proxies until the election of the head of the Kursk region and the formation of a new cabinet.

He also noted that the new head should not evaluate the work of the previous government.

"This does not contribute to the case, but only worsens it," - emphasized the governor's proxy.

Earlier, on December 7, Hinshtein spoke about the situation in the region. Then he told reporters that he does not plan to make changes in the composition of the government of the Kursk region until he gets acquainted with each of its members.

Former Kursk Region Governor Alexei Smirnov announced his resignation on December 5. Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted his letter of resignation.

At the same time Putin appointed Khinstein as interim governor of Kursk region.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The operation to destroy the militants continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
