Russia and the Dominican Republic discuss opening direct flights

The Dominican Republic and Russia are discussing the opening of direct flights. This was announced by the country's ambassador to Russia Ramon Alejandro Arias Zarzuela on December 9.
"I can say that there have been official contacts, official conversations on this topic between the agencies responsible for this," he told TASS.
Contacts have been established between the companies and the authorities responsible for the possibility of resuming flights, he said. Sarsuela noted that the resolution of logistical problems is being discussed at the moment.
On September 7, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to establish a Russian embassy in the Dominican Republic at the suggestion of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The embassy will be located in the capital, Santo Domingo.
On December 7, Sarsuela said that the Russian embassy in the republic will open in 2025. According to him, the Russian Federation will need to resolve a number of technical issues, but Dominican diplomats "will be happy to create the most comfortable conditions" when they are notified of the exact date of the embassy's opening.
