Pensioner sold her apartment and gave 6 million rubles to fraudsters in Yekaterinburg

A criminal case has been opened in Yekaterinburg over a fraud case in which a 76-year-old pensioner became a victim. The woman sold her apartment and gave almost 6 million rubles to fraudsters.

According to the Ura,ru news agency , the victim received a call from a stranger who threatened her allegedly for "negotiations with Ukraine". At first, the woman agreed to give 420 thousand rubles. Then the swindlers convinced the pensioner that she was obliged to sell the apartment.

The victim turned to a real estate agency. Its employees, as well as bank employees, suspected fraud, but the pensioner began to claim that she had a second apartment. The proceeds from the transaction, the woman in a bag handed over to a courier in a balaclava.

The criminal case was initiated under part 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud"). A check is being carried out.

In Moscow, fraudsters deceived a pensioner who agreed to sell an apartment. The elderly man lost 24 million rubles.
