Zamoskvoretskiy court has imposed six to seven and a half years of general regime colony on the defendants in the case of embezzlement of more than 1.1 billion rubles when ordering cars for the traffic police. This was reported by the correspondent of "Izvestia" on December 9.

The defendants are Yevgeny Nikitenko, a former employee of the Main Department for Traffic Safety of the Russian Interior Ministry, Sergei Kuzmenko, the founder of LLC "Training and Support Center "Movement", Denis Davydov, CEO of the company, as well as Elena Yakovleva, a representative of the Skoda Octavia car company.

The state prosecution requested nine to nine and a half years in prison for the defendants.

The court sentenced Kuzmenko to seven and a half years of general regime, Davydov and Nikitenko - to seven, Yakovleva - to six. In addition, from the defendants recovered jointly and severally 1.1 billion rubles in favor of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the investigation, in 2019 Nikitenko approached Kuzmenko and Davydov with a proposal to supply 4 thousand cars for the needs of the State Automobile Inspectorate, after which the accomplices organized the formal holding of nine tenders.

Kuzmenko's Dvizhenie won all of them. After that, together with Yakovleva, they attracted leading representatives of the automobile business, who did not know about the criminal intentions of the defendants.

As a result, the defendants managed to steal Br1.1 billion from the budget.

Earlier, on December 6, the court remanded Denis Mikhailov, General Director of Lenbytkhim LLC, in custody in the case of large-scale fraud in the supply of property for the needs of the Russian Defense Ministry. It was established that the defendant deliberately inflated prices for materials and raw materials in the course of execution of government contracts worth 115 million rubles with AO Voentorg. Thus, more than 50 million rubles was stolen.

Mikhailov was detained on suspicion of embezzlement in the execution of state defense contracts in St. Petersburg on September 12. A criminal case under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was opened against him. The maximum punishment under this article is imprisonment for up to 10 years. The next day the court placed him under house arrest.
