A bear mauled a man in Kamchatka. This was reported by Minister for Emergency Situations of Kamchatka region Sergey Lebedev on December 9.
The incident occurred at 13:30 local time (04:30 Moscow time) near a mining and metallurgical complex on the Ozernaya River in the Karaginsky municipal district.
"The bear attacked an employee of the Sigma-K enterprise," Lebedev wrote in the social network "VKontakte".
It is specified that from the injuries the man died on the spot, the bear was shot off.
Earlier, November 20, in the Khabarovsk region, a man died in the taiga after an attack by a tiger. It was reported that the investigative Department of the SU of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region began a procedural check.
