U.S. Army lieutenant colonel urged Trump to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria

TheUS should withdraw all its military from Syria for their own safety as their presence there makes no sense, retired US military Lt. Col. Daniel Davis said.
"We need to pull all 900 of our troops out of Syria right now. The US will gain nothing with such a small number of military personnel, so they must be withdrawn immediately for their safety," he wrote on December 8 in the social network X (former Twitter).
Thus the military man responded to the post of US President-elect Donald Trump that Washington should not interfere in the current events in Syria.
According to Davis, the regional security of the United States is better strengthened through the redeployment of troops, indicated "Gazeta.Ru".
On the eve, December 8, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad after negotiations with the opposition decided to leave the post of head of state and leave the country, instructing to conduct a transfer of power peacefully. On the same day, Syria's national coalition of revolutionary and opposition forces said it was working to form a transitional authority.
SAR Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali said that most of the Syrian government ministers remain in Damascus. He also emphasized that he is ready to cooperate with any leadership chosen by the people and noted that a new stage has begun in the history of Syria.
Against the background of these events, the current American President Joe Biden said that Washington is ready to cooperate with the opposition in Syria in the process of transferring power. According to him, the U.S. wants to make sure that the armed groups that came to power in the republic do not side with radicalism.
The situation in Syria escalated as a result of a major attack by armed groups in Aleppo and Idlib, which began on November 28 and led to the Syrian army's retaliation against the militants.
