Property worth 150 million rubles has been arrested in the case of Vakhrin, deputy head of the Tyumen Region

The property of Tyumen Region Deputy Governor Vyacheslav Vakhrin and Director of Specialized Developer Vostok Development Alexei Gotsyk, against whom a criminal corruption case is being investigated, has been seized for the amount of 150 million rubles. This was announced by Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin on December 9.

"Investigators have arrested the property of the accused worth 150 million rubles," Bastrykin told RIA Novosti.

Investigators found that the official in December 2022 received a bribe of 13 million rubles from Gotsyk as a discount on the purchase of two apartments in a luxury residential complex in Tyumen. In this way the merchant wanted to thank the deputy governor for helping his company. The investigation of the criminal case is at the final stage, said the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

In November, the term of the investigation was extended until February. The defendants in the case, who have been in pre-trial detention since June, do not admit their guilt, adds "Gazeta.Ru".

Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Vakhrin on June 8. The defendant is accused of committing a crime under Part 6 Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receipt of a bribe on a large scale"). The next day the government of the Tyumen Region announced its readiness to assist the investigation into the case of the deputy head of the region.

Afterwards, on August 3, a source in law enforcement agencies said that Vakhrin pleaded guilty in the case of taking a bribe on a particularly large scale. The investigation specified that Vakhrin had received an undue benefit of Br18.7 million from Gotsyk. The latter also pleaded guilty to the incriminated crimes.
