US President-elect Donald Trump said on December 9 that he is formulating a concept of how to end the conflict in Ukraine.

"I'm formulating a concept of how to end this <...> conflict," he said in an interview with the New York Post.

According to Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired May 20) "wants to make peace," which the Republican called "something new."

At the same time, the politician clarified that he and the head of the Kiev regime did not discuss details during the meeting in Paris.

Earlier in the day, Trump wrote in the social network Truth Social that the time has come for negotiations on Ukraine. He also said that the next White House administration could reduce military aid to Ukraine and that Zelensky would like to "make a deal" with Russia.

Commenting on these statements, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly said that Russia is open to negotiations on Ukraine and welcomes proposals from China, India, Brazil and other countries.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
