Former Austrian Foreign Minister and head of the Geopolitical Observatory on Russia's Key Issues (G.O.R.K.I. Center of St. Petersburg State University) Karin Kneissl saw an Amur tiger during her visit to the Bikin National Park in Primorye. She reported about it on December 7 in her Telegram channel.
"We saw one tiger on the road, but I did not have time to take a picture, he had already gone into the forest," Kneissl said.
She also expressed gratitude to the workers of the Amur Tiger Center, who contributed to the creation of the Primorsky National Park.
According to her, this is very different from the European Union (EU) policy of hunting wolves, which "are a favorite object of hatred of public opinion."
"Bears, wolves, tigers are not called 'problem bears, problem wolves' in Russia. They are part of life. This is what I call saying yes to life in Russia," the former Austrian foreign minister added.
The Amur Tiger Center said in its Telegram channel that Kneissl held a meeting with the staff of the specially protected natural area. A tour of the social and conservation infrastructure in the village of Krasny Yar was also organized. In the crafts house, the former Austrian Foreign Minister mastered the creation of traditional Udegean souvenirs, sent postcards to loved ones. In response, Kneissl gave to the new library her books "Requiem for Europe" and "Prince Eugene".
