Air defense forces eliminated 13 Ukrainian UAVs overnight over Russian territory

Air defense forces have eliminated 13 Ukrainian drones overnight over three Russian regions. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 9.

"Air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 13 Ukrainian drones: eight UAVs over the territory of Belgorod region, three - over the territory of Rostov region and two - over the territory of Astrakhan region", - stated in the message in Telegram-channel.

It is specified that the attacks were carried out by aircraft-type UAVs.

Earlier in the day, acting governor of the Rostov region Yuri Slyusar reported three UAVs shot down in the region. According to him, no casualties or damage were recorded. Details are being clarified.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
