Hero of Russia Vladimir Teslo told about the work of storm troopers in the DNR

The commander of the assault unit, Guards Major, Hero of Russia Vladimir Teslo told Izvestia about the work of the assault troops in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR).

"For the month of November-December destroyed probably up to 650 militants, there is a forest belt about 1.5 kilometers long, one continuous trench with firing points, with the opening. It was difficult enough," he said.

Guards Major Teslo noted that the attackers began to enter the trenches only after preliminary reconnaissance. That is why the fighters were sufficiently prepared for the mop-up operation and were able to take about six Ukrainian fighters prisoner. In total, about a day of almost uninterrupted combat was spent on this operation.

"Somewhere the enemy was already clinging, holding on. And somewhere we retreated, inflicted fire damage. Then again [they came in]. That is, they tortured him, tormented him. [Then] someone ran away, and someone surrendered among them," said Commander Teslo.

He received his rank in 2023 after the heroic death of Guards Lieutenant Andrei Ryabtsev. Already in November of the same year, the attackers of his unit were able to break through the defense of the Ukrainian militants in the area of the village of Krasnogorovka, take possession of a well-fortified stronghold, and in December - to take the fortified area, despite four hours of shelling.

In total, the assault detachment under the command of Guards Major Teslo destroyed up to 650 enemy soldiers and 27 units of military equipment. He received the title of Hero of Russia on February 5, 2024 for bravery and courage in the performance of military duty.

Earlier in the day, the deputy platoon commander with the call sign Khimik, Hero of Russia Alexei Khimenko told Izvestia how he single-handedly fought off a group of fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and helped liberate a school in Soledar from Georgian mercenaries.

On December 8, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian military liberated the settlement of Blagodatnoye in the DNR. In addition, the military defeated the formations of a mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and two brigades of the tera defense in the areas of Konstantinopol, Vremivka, Neskuchnoye and Bogatyr, and repelled two counterattacks by enemy attackers

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
