Republican Donald Trump, the winner of the US presidential election, announced on December 8 that Michael Anton, who was actually the president's strategic communications adviser during Trump's first term, will take over as director of the State Department's political planning division.

"Michael Anton will become the Director of the State Department's Political Planning Division," Trump wrote on his Truth Social media page.

The politician also drew attention to Anton's dedicated and effective work in his administration during his first term as president. According to Trump, during the last eight years, Anton was engaged in the fact that he explained the meaning of the foreign policy concept "America First" developed by the Republican.

Earlier, on December 6, it became known that Trump appointed an investor, former director of the financial company PayPal David Sachs responsible for the policy of the US administration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrencies. The president-elect noted that Sachs will focus on ensuring US leadership in both areas.
