Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga Siaosi Sovaleni has resigned. This is reported on December 9 by the publication Matangi Tonga.

It is noted that the Prime Minister of Tonga took this decision after his speech in Parliament, ahead of a motion of no confidence.

"I will resign immediately in accordance with the constitution," the publication quoted him as saying.

No motion of no-confidence motion was made, the publication added.

Earlier, on December 6, portal LeFaso reported that the President of the transitional period of Burkina Faso Ibrahim Traoré terminated the powers of Prime Minister Apollinaire Kielem de Tambela and dissolved the government of the country.

Prior to this, on November 20, in Mali, transitional Prime Minister Choguel Kokallou Maiga and members of the government were sent to resign by the decision of the country's interim president Assimi Goita. The decision was taken due to the prime minister's public statements questioning the cohesion of the government and the management of the transitional period, the Malijet news portal reported.
