D-30 howitzer crews destroyed AFU firing positions in the Kursk border area

Formations of 122-millimeter towed D-30 howitzers of the Caspian Flotilla Marine Infantry from the North group of troops have destroyed armored vehicles, fortified firing positions and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 9.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, artillerymen work around the clock in conjunction with reconnaissance units in difficult conditions on the line of contact. For example, reconnaissance drones detect enemy hideouts, equipment and the location of enemy personnel, and after transmitting the exact coordinates, the artillerymen proceed to destroy the enemy. The process from receiving a target to firing a shot takes no more than two minutes, after which the reconnaissance teams make fire adjustments to inflict maximum fire damage on the enemy.
"We put pressure on the enemy with constant firepower, keep them down. Victory will be ours!" - said the battery commander with the call sign Angara.
It is noted that the artillerymen work at any time of day and in any weather, the positions of the RF Armed Forces are equipped with night artillery sighting devices. After completing the task, the calculation camouflages the gun to prevent the enemy from detecting the firing positions.
Earlier, on December 7, servicemen of the motorized rifle unit of the "North" group of troops destroyed equipment and militants of the AFU in the Kursk border area. Russian fighters, supported by artillery and aviation, were able to destroy armored vehicles and manpower of AFU fighters, as well as liberate and occupy a settlement in Kursk region.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The operation to destroy the militants continues.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
