Military scouts of the separate reconnaissance battalion of the 58th All-Russian Army of the Dnipro grouping of troops have discovered a concentration area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the zone of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 9.

"Our task was to reach the infantry unit, establish interaction, learn the tactical situation and conduct surveillance of the enemy. The enemy was at a distance of 1.8 km from us, that is, visual observation with binoculars. Rotation of equipment saw from where guns, DShK, mortar, AGS. "Maviks", drops, "birds" were flying, "Baba Yaga". Fighters showed themselves competently, wisely. There was everything, it was interesting," - said the commander of the reconnaissance group with the call sign Suetolog.

The agency specified that after the work of the scouts to identify the location and calculate the combat strength of the enemy was struck.

It is noted that Russian scouts are constantly professionally developing and training.

"In addition to the fact that there are combat tasks, it is necessary to prepare for these combat tasks. That is, regular classes, training, theory, practice," added a serviceman of the Russian army.

Earlier, on December 8, the Russian military struck a dugout and an ammunition depot of the AFU in Kharkiv region. The Russian Defense Ministry specified that the strikes were carried out by FPV drones near the village of Shiykovka.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
