The average check for car services increased by 26%

The average check for car maintenance and repair for the three autumn months of 2024 amounted to Br10.5 thousand, which is 26% higher than last year for the same period, reported "Izvestia" in the network of car services Fit Service. According to them, the increase in the average check for car maintenance was affected by several factors besides the main ones - inflation and the rise in the cost of standard hour.

In particular, the approach of motorists to car care has changed. But according to the Union of Russian car services, the average check in the fall of 2024 was 16% higher (comparing this fall and the same period last year). The dynamics is caused by an increase in direct costs, in particular rental obligations. Overhead costs, such as electricity, also increased.

The following services showed the greatest increase: removal and installation of engine protection (+56%), electrical troubleshooting (+31%), front caliper guide service (+36%), search for leaks of oil and other technical fluids in the engine (+20%).

"The lifespan of cars is increasing due to improved production quality, but a lot also depends on car maintenance. Some models are able to drive a lot of kilometers without major repairs, but for this owners need to regularly monitor the technical condition and replacement of consumables," - said auto expert Julia Miloslavskaya.

People more often began to assess the risks when buying cars both new and with mileage, said auto expert Ivan Volin. This is due to the fact that previously people often bought a car for the warranty period, but now they consider them for up to seven years.
