Hamas says it has regular contacts with Russian ambassador to Qatar

Representatives of the Palestinian Hamas movement regularly meet with Russian Ambassador to Qatar Dmitry Dogadkin. This was reported to Izvestia by Hamas representative in Lebanon Ahmed Abdel Hadi.

"We are in touch with Russia through contacts with the Russian ambassador to the State of Qatar. We have regular meetings, we meet almost daily, especially in the case of intensified negotiations. Coordination between us will be at a very high level, for example, in the case of UN Security Council meetings," a Hamas spokesman told Izvestia.

Can the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon at least be a starting point for a settlement in the Middle East

The movement added that the Hamas politburo has no information about the condition of Russian hostages held by military groups in Gaza.

Since October 2023, Hamas representatives have repeatedly visited Russia to discuss the release of hostages and the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
