An explosion has occurred near a police station in Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine. About it on December 8 reported in the press service of the police of the Kharkiv region.
"The police is conducting an inspection on the fact of explosion in the Slobodsky district of Kharkiv. It was found that an unknown explosive device detonated near the central entrance to the administrative building of the territorial police Department <...> December 8 at about 17:00 (local time; 18:00 Moscow time - Ed.)," - stated in the message in the Telegram-channel.
It is noted that as a result of the explosion near the police station, the facade of the building was damaged. There were no victims, the press service added. At the scene of the incident are working employees of the operational and investigative team, the question of initiation of criminal proceedings is being addressed.
Earlier, on December 2, it became known that two 17-year-olds set fire to the buildings of military commissions in Kharkiv. They are charged under part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Sabotage committed under martial law by prior conspiracy of a group of persons"). The teenagers face up to 15 years' imprisonment or life imprisonment.
On November 24, it was noted that Ukraine has seen an increase in the number of sabotage attacks against law enforcers. Thus, one of the cases occurred near the car of a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). It was specified that a camera was attached to a tree next to his car, which was broadcasting what was happening in real time. In addition, cases of arson attacks on vehicles belonging to the military have recently become more frequent in Ukraine. For example, on October 23, the car of the head of combat training of one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was blown up in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). The owner was inside the cabin, he was injured in the explosion.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, signed the law on tightening mobilization on April 16. The document specifies which citizens are subject to mobilization and toughens penalties for evading conscription into the AFU. There are no provisions on demobilization in the law. Martial law in Ukraine has been in effect since February 2022. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended it. Most men aged between 18 and 60 are forbidden to leave the country.
