In St. Petersburg, police detained about 20 people after a raid in the art space "Yavniye", where a closed LGBT party was held (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia). This was reported by "RIA Novosti" on December 8, citing a source in the operational services.

"At the time of the police visit, there were about 130 people in the premises. The most active of the participants, about 20 people, were taken to police departments for proceedings and preventive work," - said the interlocutor of the agency.

At the moment, the identity and age of each participant are established, as well as in the premises of the art space are searched.

Earlier, law enforcement officers raided a closed LGBT party (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) in the art space "Yavlenie" in St. Petersburg. A source of "Izvestiya" said that among the detainees was the son of a former deputy of the St. Petersburg parliament Boris Vishnevsky (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia).

Earlier, on the night of December 7, law enforcement officers conducted raids in Moscow nightclubs Sisters and Bizarre. As a result of the searches, prohibited substances were found in the possession of one of the visitors, who reported that there might be visitors of non-traditional orientation in the club (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
