Trump admits U.S. cuts in U.S. military aid to Ukraine

After the change of the US administration, Washington is likely to reduce the volume of military aid to Ukraine. This was stated by US President-elect Donald Trump in an interview with NBC News on December 8.
Trump noted that he is actively trying to end the conflict in Ukraine.
The American president-elect added that after his inauguration Kiev should not expect military aid in the previous volume.
Earlier in the day, Trump said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired May 20) would like to "make a deal" with Russia. According to him, it is necessary to immediately cease fire and start negotiations, otherwise the Ukrainian conflict may worsen. It is specified that Ukraine saw an opportunity to get closer to the future leader of the United States and convey to him its position in the conflict.
Before that, on December 7, Irish journalist Chay Bose said that US President Joe Biden was in a hurry to pay all the money promised to Kiev in order to "pay for the silence" Zelensky.
On December 5, it was reported that the US Congress rejected Biden's request for Ukraine funding. Speaker of the House of Representatives of the American Congress Mike Johnson said that the decision on additional financial assistance for Ukraine will have to be made by President-elect Donald Trump, not the current leader of the country. Before that, Biden asked Congress to allocate $24 billion to Ukraine to strengthen its military potential and replenish America's dwindling reserves.
On December 4, it became known that the Trump team has three plans to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. So, this is the plan of the US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, one is from Trump's vice-president-elect JD Vance, and the other is put forward by Richard Grenell, Trump's former acting intelligence chief.
Back in November, Trump promised to "work very hard" to end the conflict in Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow will wait for proposals to this effect and is ready to consider them.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
