Putin pointed to effective coordination between Moscow and Minsk in defense policy

Moscow and Minsk have established effective coordination in foreign and defense policy. This was stated in the address of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on the establishment of the Union State. It was read out by Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov on December 8.
"Effective coordination in foreign and defense policy has been established, which is very much in demand in the current difficult international conditions, when Moscow and Minsk face unprecedented external pressure," Putin's address reads.
The Russian leader also noted that the results of joint efforts of Belarus and Russia on mutually beneficial integration processes are reflected in all spheres of life of the citizens of the states.
Earlier, December 6, Russia and Belarus approved a resolution on comfortable communication tariffs in the Union State. Thus, the document provides for the abolition of roaming between the countries from March 1, 2025.
Also on that day, the head of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, asked Putin to put on the territory of the country Russian complexes for the launch of "Oreshnik". The Russian President, in turn, allowed the placement of the corresponding complex on the territory of the republic in the second half of 2025.
At the same time Putin and Lukashenko signed a treaty on security guarantees between the two countries.
As the Russian leader specified, the document defines mutual allied obligations to ensure defense, protection of sovereignty, independence and constitutional order of the Russian Federation and Belarus, as well as inviolability of the territory of the external border of the Union State.
