Political analyst named the reason for the aggravation of the situation in Syria

The reason for the aggravation of the situation in Syria is the inability of the government of the republic to build a dialog with the opposition. This was stated by Russian public figure, expert on the Middle East, political scientist Dmitry Brije in a conversation with Izvestia on December 8.
"The main problem of the Syrian government is that it failed to build a proper dialog in order to calm down the protest movement that was observed in Syria. Because of this, the protest movement turned into armed groups," he pointed out.
The expert recalled that back in 2015 the situation in the country was complicated. At that time, Russia, within the framework of the operation that began, tried to build communication with the opposition, which were in different provinces of the republic. The main task, he said, was that these groups went for a truce with the Syrian army, but despite some agreements of theirs with the Syrian government, the process was not easy. As a result, the lack of any reforms has exacerbated the situation.
"Of course, it's all to do with external players, [particularly] the US. Western countries have been supporting what is called the Syrian opposition," Brije added.
On Sunday morning, Reuters reported that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had left Damascus. The Russian Foreign Ministry said later that Assad decided to leave the post of head of state and leave the country as a result of negotiations with the opposition.
It was also reported that the armed opposition took control of the Seidnaya prison in the suburbs of Damascus and released all prisoners. In addition, opposition forces stormed the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
On November 27, armed formations attacked the Syrian government-controlled territory in Aleppo and Idlib provinces. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called the activation of the opposition part of the U.S. plan against the backdrop of Israel's defeat in Lebanon. At the same time, the White House denied its involvement in the events.
In turn, Britain, the United States, France and Germany called on all parties in Syria to de-escalate, and Russian Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that Russia strongly condemns the outbreak of the opposition. In addition, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the Doha Forum on December 7 that it was unacceptable to allow armed groups to seize land in Syria.
