A 70-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man in Serpukhov near Moscow died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a dead pigeon blocking the ventilation. This was reported on December 8 by the source of "Izvestia".
"The ventilation channel and chimney were completely blocked by concrete and brick scree and the corpse of the pigeon," he said.
According to him, a gas boiler connected to the chimney was installed in the bathroom, but the extractor hood was blocked.
Law enforcers began checking the organization responsible for the maintenance of gas equipment. The company's office was searched and documents were seized for further examination.
Earlier in the day it was reported about the poisoning of a girl after using an air freshener in St. Petersburg. She said that after using the air freshener she felt sick and needed the help of medics, who diagnosed her poisoning.
