Russian Foreign Ministry urged the parties involved in the situation in Syria to renounce violence

The Russian Foreign Ministry has called on the parties involved in the situation in Syria to resolve issues peacefully and not to use violence. This is stated in the department's message in Telegram on December 8.

"At the same time, we appeal to all parties involved with a convincing appeal to refuse the use of violence and solve all management issues in a political way," the statement reads.

The Russian Foreign Ministry is in contact with all Syrian opposition groups.

In its statement, the ministry emphasizes the importance of respecting all opinions of Syria's ethno-religious forces. The ministry is making efforts to establish an inclusive political process based on UN Security Council Resolution 2254.

It is noted that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of Russian citizens in Syria.

Russian military bases in Syria are on high alert, there is no threat to their security at the moment.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had decided to leave the post of the head of state and leave the country as a result of negotiations with the opposition.

On the same day it was reported that Syrian formations took control of the prison "Seidnaya" in the suburbs of Damascus. They released all the prisoners. In the morning of the same day, the media reported that the Syrian President left Damascus. It was specified that the plane of Syrian Air departed from the airport of the capital, but later the board disappeared from radar.

Prime Minister of the SAR Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali said that most of the ministers of the Syrian government remain in Damascus. He also emphasized that he is ready to cooperate with any leadership chosen by the people and noted that a new stage has begun in Syria's history.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) deployed its forces in the buffer zone and "a number of other places" near the border with Syria for defense purposes. At the same time, the Israeli army emphasized that it "does not interfere in internal developments in Syria."

On November 29, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi called the activation of the opposition part of the US plan against the backdrop of Israel's defeat in Lebanon. At the same time, the White House denied its involvement in the events.
