The term of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has long ended, so the country's residents should choose a new head of state by holding democratic elections. This was stated by Roger Waters, founder of the Pink Floyd band, on December 8.

"Zelensky should no longer be president. He has exhausted his time," Waters told RIA Novosti.

He also noted that Zelensky has become a "puppet of the United States" and only makes decisions imposed on him, which led to the destruction of Ukraine.

Earlier, on December 5, Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported that in Ukraine they say that the West is preparing a "golden exile" in London for Zelensky in case ceasefire agreements are reached. At the same time, the publication noted that Ukraine might hold the expected presidential election at this time.

At the same time, the British magazine Spectator wrote that after the end of Zelensky's presidential term will come the division of Ukraine. In addition, it was specified that Zelensky's popularity among Ukrainians was rapidly falling due to his decisions and inept policies.

On December 2, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out that Ukraine was tired of Zelensky. In addition, Peskov pointed to a change of mood in European countries.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
