The State Duma reminded about the order of payments for work on New Year holidays

State Duma deputy Sergei Gavrilov said on December 8 that work on holidays should be paid at double the rate for each hour worked, because, according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, the days from January 1 to 8 are considered non-working days.
"Work on these days is subject to payment at an increased rate, regardless of which payroll system the employee is on. If an employee goes to work on these days, he is entitled to double pay for each hour worked," RIA Novosti reports his words .
Gavrilov also explained that salary employees in this case will receive additional payment on top of the monthly norm. And if they exceed their hourly norm on holidays, they can expect to be paid for additional hours or days at a double rate, said the representative of the State Duma.
In addition, the parliamentarian told about the possibility to get instead of double pay time off in coordination with the employer. Then the working day will be calculated at the standard rate, and the day of rest will not be subject to payment.
If the above conditions are not fulfilled by the employer, his ward has the right to appeal to the Prosecutor's Office or the Labor Inspectorate. Violation of the legislation in this case will lead to an administrative fine, summarized Gavrilov.
On the eve, December 7, a member of the Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Svetlana Bessarab said that some Russians may receive in December at once two pension payments - for the main month and January.
Earlier, on December 5, it was reported that families with low incomes may organize a one-time payment as part of the "New Year family budget".
